The longtime couple got their license in Williamson County, Tennessee, five days before quietly tying the knot at Miley's home outside of Nashville.

AceShowbiz - More details of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's private wedding have been unveiled. According to a copy of a marriage license obtained by TMZ, the couple obtained the wedding permit on December 18, just five days before they tied the knot.

The pair got their license in Williamson County, Tennessee, the same area their wedding took place on December 23. Miley used her full name, Miley Ray Cyrus, and they both signed away, while they left out the name of parent or guardian.

News about Miley and Liam's wedding first surfaced after the couple's close friend Conrad Carr posting on Instagram Stories a picture of the "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" singer and "The Hunger Games" actor holding a knife as they were about to cut a white two-tiered cake.

Miley later confirmed her wedding by sharing some images of her embracing her new husband. She wore a white off-the-shoulder wedding gown, while the groom looked sharp in a tuxedo. They appeared to be dancing near a fireplace.

Miley's parents Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, her sisters Noah Cyrus and Brandi Cyrus have since congratulated the newlyweds with their social media posts. Her brother Braison Cyrus as well as Liam's older brothers Chris Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth were also present at the wedding. The latter two were seen wearing matching floral shirts.

A source said the wedding was small and intimate, exactly like what Miley and Liam had hoped. "The gathering was small and intimate and rather spontaneous," a source told Entertainment Tonight. "They did some quick pre-planning before the holiday and decided that they didn't want a big elaborate wedding. They truly wanted to keep it a secret."

"They just wanted the people most important in their lives present. It was so touching," the so-called insider added. "They decided to do it at their home in Tennessee as they have talked about it in the past."
