The moniker seems to be an official go-to term of endearment in the Cambridge family.

AceShowbiz - Just like any other family, Kate Middleton was spotted doing some last-minute shopping prior to Christmas. Alongside her two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Duchess of Cambridge went to a discount store, The Range, in Norfolk's King's Lynn.

The royal trio were first seen in the arts and craft section of the home, garden and leisure retailer. According to an onlooker named Sarah Daniels, Prince George showed a keen interest in a "dinosaur slime." The onlooker shared to Daily Mail, "As I was looking at the shelves I noticed a tall dark-haired lady further down the aisle and thought to myself, 'I recognize that face.' "

"Then I heard George say 'Charlotte, pick that up' and the penny suddenly dropped as to who they were. It seemed like a lovely family outing for them the day before Christmas Eve," added the onlooker.

Additionally, we got to know Kate's lovely nickname for her only daughter as the onlooker overheard the Duchess calling the 3-year-old by a cute moniker. According to the onlooker, Charlotte, at one point, sat on the floor. That prompted her mom, who was dressed casually in jeans, low-heeled boots and a jacket, to say, "Get up, poppet."

That's so sweet because her husband Prince William has been known to call Kate "Poppet" before. It seems like the name has been officially be a go-to term of endearment in the family.

Meanwhile, another shopper revealed to The Sun that Kate brought home pictures, children's books and art materials from the shop. Meeting royals at The Range was such a rare sight, as the shopper said, "I did a double-take when I saw her. You don’t expect to see royals shopping at The Range."
