The plus-size model takes to her social media account to assure fans that she is fine after taking a tumble down the stairs backstage when changing her dress for her hosting duty.

AceShowbiz - Ashley Graham was tended to by medics after falling down the stairs backstage at the Miss Universe 2018 contest on Sunday night, December 16.

The 31-year-old star was hosting the backstage coverage of the world-famous event in Bangkok, Thailand, and started the evening in a high-neck white dress before changing into an ivy green number. It was the costume changes that led to Ashley taking a tumble though, as she took to her Instagram Stories to lament her injury.

Sharing a clip in which she displayed a painful looking graze on her shin, Ashley told her followers, "OK, I'm doing some quick a*s changes you guys, and then, of course, I fell down the stairs."

As the doctors cleaned the wound with cotton wool, she added, "Got the medics on me. I'm OK, but I just wanted to let you know what I'm doing... going really fast."

To conclude, Ashley explained that the wound was "throbbing a bit" but insisted that it looked much worse than it felt.

After the pageant came to an end, more medics were on hand to take a look at Ashley's leg, as she rested.

"The show has finished but the doctors came to the rescue. Woah, it stings, but it's worth it," she smiled.

Ashley previously revealed she was excited to speak to the contest's 94 competitors, telling Good Day Austin in an interview, "A lot of these women have been working for this their whole lives. It's a lot (of) pressure and they're not only speaking up for themselves, (but) they're (also) speaking up for their country. To be able to hear from them and what they're so passionate about is really interesting."

Miss Philippines Catriona Gray was named the winner of the competition, while Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green was the first runner-up.
