After blasting Julie Andrews' granddaughter for lying about their alleged hookup, the 'ChiPs' star plays along with his friends' jokes about the former model.

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer and Mae Whitman were among the many supporting Dax Shepard in the wake of his cheating allegation. Shortly after the husband of Kristen Bell denied through Instagram the claim made by Julie Andrews' granddaughter, the "Trainwreck" star and the "Good Girls" actress joined in to lighten things up.

Pocking fun at the rumors, Schumer made a reference to Kayti Edwards in the comment section of Shepard's post that displayed a screenshot of Daily Mail's report about the alleged affair. "This chick sounds pretty fun," she joked. "You care if I reach out?" To which, he replied, "I think you would really enjoy yourself!"

Whitman, on the other hand, jested that she recently made out with Shepard's wife. The 30-year-old actress gushed, "I have identical photos of me and Kristen doing the same thing from like two weeks ago. Hope ur cool with that!" Replying to the comment, her former "Parenthood" co-star wrote back, "I took 'em, dingus!"

Schumer and Whitman weren't the only celebrities taking Shepard's side. "One Tree Hill" alum Sophia Bush and "Cougar Town" alum Busy Philipps liked his post, while stuntman Dave Castillo quipped, "I wonder if I can sell my photo." To his comment, Shepard replied, "Daily Mail will pay top dollar!"

Shepard got entangled in an affair scandal after Daily Mail published an interview with Edwards on Thursday, December 13. In it, Edwards claimed that she and Shepard spent one "passionate" night together in 2009, during which he was dating now-wife Bell. "I didn't know he had a girlfriend at the time, he didn't seem to care," the 41-year-old explained.

The "CHiPS" actor was quick to react to the story. Making use of his Instagram account, he clarified, "Hey Daily Mail, that photo is 13 years old, not 9. Also, Kayti has sold stories to tabloids about Matthew Perry, Jack Osbourne, Kid Rock, and now me. I look forward to her next one. Fingers crossed it's about my #1, Brad Pitt."
