AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey has scored another court victory after a New York judge dismissed a $1 million (£790,400) lawsuit filed against her as part of a cancelled concert dispute.
The "Hero" hitmaker initially sued promoters at FEG Entretenimientos S.A. in early 2017, claiming she was forced to scrap two planned shows in Argentina and Chile because she hadn't been paid in full.
They countersued Mariah and officials at her Mirage Entertainment firm for breach of contract and defamation, alleging the superstar had no real reason for pulling out of the gigs. They also accused her of falsely blaming them for causing the cancellations in a Twitter post to fans.
Their defamation argument was thrown out by a New York federal judge in August, and in September the promoters also lost out on their efforts to obtain damages from Carey for breach of contract.
According to The Blast, a New York judge has now dismissed the remaining claims against Carey's company because the promoters failed to obtain new counsel after they were dropped by their former lawyer. Mariah has also agreed to toss her original lawsuit.
