The 17-year-old daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber takes home the prestigious crown at a ceremony held at Royal Albert Hall in London.

AceShowbiz - Kaia Gerber was crowned Model of the Year at The Fashion Awards 2018.

The 17-year-old saw off the likes of Adut Akech, Adwoa Aboah, Bella Hadid and Winnie Harlow to take home the prize at London's Royal Albert Hall on Monday night (December 10), and was supported by her family, including her famous parents Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, as well as her 19-year-old brother Presley Gerber.

Kaia received the accolade wearing a stunning black and silver cut-out gown by Alexander McQueen.

Another highlight of the night was a surprise appearance by Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, who graced the ceremony to honour Clare Waight Keller, winner of British Designer of the Year: Womenswear.

The British designer was responsible for the iconic Givenchy bridal gown Meghan wore to marry Prince Harry in May, and the expectant mother looked radiant as she concealed her blossoming baby bump in a chic one-shouldered black dress.

Though Gucci led the nominations with nods in four categories, the label took home two awards - Brand of the Year and Business Leader for the label's chief executive officer Marco Bizzarri.

Creative director Alessandro Michele was beaten by Valentino's Pierpaolo Piccioli in the Designer of the Year category, with Piccioli also coming out on top over Keller, Kim Jones for Dior Homme and Virgil Abloh for Louis Vuitton.

Meanwhile, Jones was honoured with the 2018 Trailblazer Award, while Vivienne Westwood received the Swarovski Award for Positive Change and Miuccia Prada was feted with the Outstanding Achievement prize.
