While Tim Commerford doesn't disclose reason of his split from Aleece Dimas, the rocker has obtained a domestic violence prevention restraining order against her.

AceShowbiz - Rage Against the Machine rocker Tim Commerford has confirmed reports his marriage is over.

The bassist's wife, Aleece, reportedly filed papers to end the couple's 17-year marriage in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday, November 28, and now Tim has released a statement to WENN.

"After 17 years of marriage to Aleece Dimas, I am saddened to announce our divorce," Commerford, who also performs in the supergroup Prophets of Rage, writes. "This decision was made after much careful thought and consideration.

"I want to send my deepest appreciation to my family and friends who have supported us through these changes. We remain committed and loving parents to our two boys. Our family asks in advance for your kindness and sensitivity at this difficult time."

A reason for the split has not been revealed, but it appears the former couple is no longer on good terms - Commerford has been granted a domestic violence prevention restraining order against his estranged wife, accusing Aleece of ramming the garage door of a home at which he was crashing with a Porsche parked outside in order to illegally gain access to the residence, according to The Blast.

She then allegedly "viciously assaulted" the rocker with her iPhone and fists that caused severe injuries to his face and body, shown in photos he provided as evidence.

She fled when police arrived, but was later arrested at her home, according to the bassist.

Aleece has been ordered to stay away from her estranged husband and any venue where he is booked to play or rehearse.

The couple is due in court later this month.
