Directed by 'Wonder Woman' helmer Patty Jenkins, the six-part thriller series has just released a new trailer for viewing pleasure as well as announced the premiere date.

AceShowbiz - Chris Pine and director Patty Jenkins are joining forces in the upcoming "Wonder Woman 1984". However, fans can catch up their collaboration ahead of the sequel of blockbuster "Wonder Woman" on TNT's limited series "I Am the Night". The thriller series has just released a new trailer for viewing pleasure as well as announced the premiere date.

The trailer opens with Los Angeles reporter named Jay Singletary (Pine) going after a young woman named Fauna Hodel (India Eisley). In a letter she writes for Jay, Fauna, who grew up outside Reno, Nevada, tells him that she just finds out that she's adopted. "I found out that I was adopted, that's why I come to Los Angeles. [To] find my real family," she says in voiceover.

As Fauna attempts to search for her origins, she meets gynecologist Dr. George Hodel (Jefferson Mays). That's when things get intense as Jay previously wrote a story suggesting that the doctor was involved in the infamous "Black Dahlia" murder of Elizabeth Short in 1947.

While Jay's reputation was ruined after the article, George was never arrested for the suspected crime. And now, Jay seemingly believes that he's going to get a huge story through Fauna.

Directed by Jenkins and written by Sam Sheridan, "I Am the Night" is inspired by true events. Jenkins shares the trailer on her Twitter account, writing, "So excited to share this trailer for #IAmTheNight, starring the most amazing Chris Pine and @IndiaEisleyLife. This story was dying to be told and we loved telling it. Can’t wait for you all to see! Premieres January 28! @IAmTheNightTNT."

Also co-starring Leland Orser and Connie Nielsen, the six-part limited series sees "Devil in a Blue Dress" director Carl Franklin serving as an executive producer. "I Am the Night" will premiere on January 28 on TNT.
