The Spice Girls member, who shares a daughter with the 'Norbit' star, recalls the intense attraction she had for the comedian whom she described as the 'great love' of her life.

AceShowbiz - Melanie Brown a.k.a. Mel B considers Eddie Murphy the "great love" of her life.

The Spice Girls star and Murphy dated for nine months in 2006 and subsequently welcomed daughter Angel Iris together the following year. However, the couple's relationship soon turned sour and he initially denied he was the father of Angel until a DNA test proved otherwise.

Mel and Eddie have since moved on and repaired their co-parenting relationship, but she reveals she was convinced they would be together for a long time because of the intense attraction she felt towards him when they first met.

"I mean, I've never really spoken about it before... I wanted to address it because a lot of people have a misconstrued thing of how everything actually did happen...," she told "Good Morning Britain" on Monday, November 26.

"I went for a dinner party at his house, and it was very intense that attraction, and I left actually because it was a bit too much," she adds. "But he's such a lovely person, he's all about family and he's very respectful and very old school and we courted for quite some time before anybody knew. It was like a love story that didn't have a perfect ending".

Mel moved on to marry Stephen Belafonte in 2007, but the union didn't last and the couple is now going through an acrimonious divorce. Eddie has also found love with fiancee Paige Butcher, who is expecting the couple's second child, but it seems Mel B would be interested in rekindling her romance with Eddie if his current relationship ends.

"(He's in) a lovely, committed relationship," she said. "His lady's got her second baby that she's expecting in, like, a few weeks I think now. So, I'm not gonna say anything else about that".
