AceShowbiz - Kane Brown has come a long way since his humble beginnings as a social media star who is known for his covers. In three short years, he has now become one of the brightest artists in the country scene with a series of gold-certified records which are streamed for more than 1.8 billion times.
Let's take his singles "What Ifs" and "Heaven" as the examples of how he has taken the country music industry by storm. Both songs were included in the deluxe version of his self-titled debut album and ruled the charts in no time. For instance, the Lauren Alaina-assisted single topped both Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs chart in addition to peaking at No. 26 on Billboard's Hot 100. Meanwhile, "Heaven" peaked at No. 2 and No. 15 at Hot Country Songs and Hot 100 respectively.
Thanks to the success of both songs as well his debut album, Brown became the first artist to have simultaneous number ones on all five main country charts: Top Country Albums, Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, Country Digital Song Sales and Country Streaming Songs. It also made him took home all trophies for the country categories at the 2018 American Music Awards.
Hoping to follow up the major success of his debut album, Brown released his sophomore effort "Experiment" on November 9. The effort received generally positive reviews from music critics, with Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic giving it 4 out of 5 stars. He found Brown's singing and songwriting superior to his 2016 debut album, while also noting influences of contemporary R&B and arena rock.
"Experiment" debuted atop Billboard 200 with 124,000 units, making it his first No. 1 album and third country album to top the chart this year. It followed Carrie Underwood's "Cry Pretty" and Jason Aldean's "Rearview Town".
