The zombie series also drops a teaser for season 9B in which it introduces a new enemy for the Survivors.

AceShowbiz - Another character meets its end in season 9 of "The Walking Dead". Aired on Sunday, November 25, midseason finale of the AMC zombie apocalypse series kills one of its characters.

[SPOILER ALERT!] Jesus' (Tom Payne) storyline brutally comes to an end in the episode. Alongside Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Daryl (Norman Reedus), he went to help an injured Eugene (Josh McDermitt) get back to safety. However, they were being targeted by a herd of zombies. One of them managed to get to Jesus before stabbing him in the back to death.

As if that was not enough, the group of walkers kept coming at them, even resisting noisy traps that Daryl sent to distract them. When they thought it was no way to escape, Michonne and Magna miraculously to help them out. Jesus, however, stayed a little bit to beat some walkers.

When he turned back to follow his friends, one particular zombie ran him through with a blade. The walker then could be heard whispering to him, "You are where you do not belong." The others, meanwhile, could only watch the interim Hilltop leader died right in front of them with Aaron crying out loud.

It was unusual for a walker to speak, so Daryl inspected a corpse only to learn the "walker" is a now-dead person sewn into a mask. Who are they, exactly?

The answer will most likely be answered in the upcoming second half of season of "The Walking Dead". The series drops a teaser for season 9B, introducing a new enemy. "Now we know, there's a new enemy," Daryl says in voiceover. Later, the almost-one-minute footage offers glimpse of Whisperers Alpha (Samantha Morton) and Beta (Ryan Hurst).

Former star Andrew Lincoln previously talked about Morton's character at the New York Comic-Con. "She's scared the bejeezus out of all the crew, actually," the Rick Grimes actor said at that time. "Someone was doing an impersonation of a scene that she did, and even that scared me... I was like, 'Oh my God, that's really scary.' "

In Robert Kirkman's comics, Alpha emerges in the post-war era and is depicted as uncompromising leader of the barbaric Whisperers, a savage, cult-like enemy group that camouflage themselves in the flesh of the undead.

Exploring Survivors' war with the new cult-like group, season 9B will arrive on February 10 at 9 P.M. on AMC.
