The 'Cruel Intentions' star shares a picture of her feasting on a roasted turkey after drawing backlash for posting a reminder to herself not to overeat on the holiday.

AceShowbiz - Sarah Michelle Gellar just can't resist the temptation on Thanksgiving despite her determination not to overeat. On Thursday, November 22, the actress shared a funny picture of her getting "caught" by her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. when devouring a Thanksgiving turkey.

The "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed" star's mouth was wide open as if she's going to take a big bite of the roasted turkey in the picture. She wished everyone a happy holiday in the caption as writing, "Oops caught by @realfreddieprinze Happy Thanksgiving!!"

The post comes just a few days after Sarah shared throwback photos of herself from Maxim's December 2007 issue to remind herself not to overeat on Thanksgiving. In the images, the blonde beauty bared her taut tummy and toned legs in black lingerie. She captioned the shots with "I'm just going to pin these up all over my house as a reminder not to overeat on Thursday," adding the hashtag #thanksgivingprep.

Her post drew backlash from people who accused her of promoting "eating disorders." One of the critics wrote, "Buffy, please don't promote diet culture. Not the kind of message we should be sending. Usually love your posts but I'm seriously against 'thinspiration.' It's a core of most eating disorders."

The 41-year-old star quickly apologized for it, writing in a comment on her post, "It's come to my attention that some people think I was 'fat shaming' with this post. That could not be further from my intentions."

She continued explaining, "I love Thanksgiving and unfortunately my eyes are often bigger than my stomach, and I tend to eat so much I make myself sick. This was a joking reminder to myself not to do that. I'm terribly sorry that people were offended by my attempt at humor. Any one that knows me, knows I would never intentionally 'shame' any one on any basis. I am a champion of all people."

Some of her followers defended her, saying that she should've not apologized for her post. "omg ignore people! They look for s**t everywhere and for the bad in everything! F*** them!!" one of them responded to Sarah's post.
