The former 'Game of Thrones' star confirms in an interview that she parted ways with Anthony Byrne after promoting their thriller film, 'In Darkness', in the summer.

AceShowbiz - Natalie Dormer has split up with her director fiance Anthony Byrne.

The former "Game of Thrones" star had been in a relationship with the filmmaker for 11 years, after meeting on the set of TV series "The Tudors" in Dublin in 2007.

Together they even produced and co-wrote movie "In Darkness", which Natalie also starred in earlier this year.

However, in an interview with New Statesman, the actress revealed she and Anthony were no longer together. She refrained from sharing the reasons behind the separation, with reporters simply stating that "they've parted ways since promoting the film this summer. Dormer only has positive things to say about Byrne."

Though the 36-year-old failed to open up further about the split, the publication noted that many of the pair's promotional interviews referred to the difficulties they faced working together on "In Darkness".

"I don't know if you've ever been in a writing room but I wouldn't recommend it with your other half," Natalie said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2016, while Anthony told The Hollywood Reporter in May that what they were doing was "completely the wrong way to write together."

"Because we didn't have an office or anything, we were in our own home writing, and then it would all kick off because we would disagree about something fundamentally or I would be a pain in the a**e and I would challenge Nat, or myself," the 43-year-old added. "It's very easy to go, 'Oh, don't worry about that, it's going to be fine,' and you have to police that and in doing so you end up being the bad guy and end up having massive arguments."

Natalie and Anthony became engaged in 2011 after the Irish filmmaker proposed on a boat in India.
