Having been leading a private life in the wake of Cathriona White's tragic passing, the 'Kidding' star makes the revelation about his relationship status when talking about his love for art.

AceShowbiz - Jim Carrey is quietly dating again after the suicide of his ex Cathriona White three years ago.

The comedian has kept his private life out of the headlines since the tragedy, choosing to concentrate on his love for art, but now he's dating again.

But Jim, who has been unlucky in love for many years, admits he's happy being alone.

The 56 year old tells Radio Times magazine, "You could describe my home life as an isolated life. I spend a lot of time by myself but I like being by myself, so it's OK. That might be strange to some people, but I enjoy it."

"I love to read and I enjoy painting and working on sculptures. And I date."

Twice-married Carrey, who has dated celebrities like Renee Zellweger and Jenny McCarthy, has also stepped away from Hollywood in recent years after becoming a blockbuster comedy king, admitting he had become disillusioned with the movie industry.

"I just didn't want to be in the business anymore," Carrey told The Hollywood Reporter. "I didn't like what was happening, the corporations taking over and all that. And maybe it's because I felt pulled toward a different type of creative outlet and I really liked the control of painting - of not having a committee in the way telling me what the idea must be to appeal to a four-quadrant whatever."

But Carrey is definitely still a big player in Hollywood - his quirky new drama series, "Kidding", in which he plays the depressed host of a kids TV show host, is a hit and last month he accepted the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy.

It ends a tough period in Carrey's life following White's drug overdose death in September 2015.

He has spent the past three years battling a wrongful death suit filed by makeup artist White's mother, who accused Jim of playing a part in her daughter's passing.

Brigid Sweetman and White's estranged husband Mark Burton sued Carrey, alleging the actor and comedian provided her with the pills that killed her while also giving her sexually transmitted diseases.

Carrey filed a countersuit in September 2017, alleging their legal action was an attempt to exploit his fame.

The case against him was dismissed at the beginning of 2018.
