The 'Venom' star has been awarded with a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire medal at the Buckingham Palace for his services to drama.

AceShowbiz - Movie hardman Tom Hardy has been honoured by Britain's Prince Charles for his services to drama.

The "Venom (2018)" star was made a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) on Friday, November 16 during an investiture ceremony at London's Buckingham Palace.

Hardy, who declined to speak to the press following the presentation, was seen enjoying a laugh with the royal as he collected the medal, having served as an ambassador for his youth charity, The Prince's Trust, since 2010.

The British actor is also close friends with Prince Charles' son Prince Harry, and attended the 34 year old's wedding to Meghan Markle, now known as Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, at Windsor Castle in May.

Hardy's CBE honour was announced in June, as part of Queen Elizabeth II's Birthday Honours list, which also included an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) title for Keira Knightley, and a damehood for Emma Thompson.
