The limited HBO series is based on Jean Hanff Korelitz's novel 'You Should Have Known', and has director Susanne Bier serving behind the lens.

AceShowbiz - Hugh Grant will star opposite Nicole Kidman in new HBO series "The Undoing".

The pair has signed on to play husband and wife in David E. Kelley's adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz's book "You Should Have Known", which will be directed by Susanne Bier.

The limited, six-episode season centres around a top therapist whose life is turned upside down when her husband, a pediatric oncologist, goes missing.

The role marks Grant's first major U.S. television production, but he recently found success on the small screen by portraying British politician Jeremy Thorpe in BBC/Amazon series "A Very English Scandal".

Grant and Kidman already have an odd career link - they both played villains in the two "Paddington" movies.

Kelley, Bier and Kidman will executive produce "The Undoing".
