While he doesn't offer any explanation behind his health scare post-performance at Madison Square Garden, the Aerosmith guitarist expresses his gratitude for 'all the love and support.'

AceShowbiz - Aerosmith star Joe Perry is "doing well" following his hospitalisation over the weekend, November 10-11.

The guitarist collapsed in his dressing room after performing with Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday night, November 10, and paramedics, who spent over 30 minutes with the 68 year old, had to put a trachea down his throat to clear the air path before transporting him to a nearby hospital.

The rocker's publicist, Marcee Rondan, released a statement to WENN on Sunday, confirming the news and revealing Joe had "experienced shortness of breath and was treated backstage by paramedics who gave the guitarist oxygen".

"This morning Perry remains in the hospital where he is alert and responsive," Rondan added.

Perry has not revealed what caused the breathing issue, but he is now updating fans on his condition.

"Doing well, thanks for all the love and support!," he writes on Twitter.

The rocker has also taken to social media to pay tribute to comic book legend Stan Lee, who passed away on Monday, November 12.

"With Stan Lee, at The Hollywood Bowl in 2012," he tweets, alongside a picture of himself and Lee. "Rest In Peace Stan!"
