The 'Terminator' star was on board when the British Airways plane to Los Angeles was forced to make a sharp descent of 1000 feet off the west coast of Scotland.

AceShowbiz - Arnold Schwarzenegger was left "shaken" after an engine problem forced his British Airways (BA) flight to make a sharp descent of 1000 feet.

According to The Sun, the 71-year-old "Terminator" actor was returning home to Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon, November 06, when the flight from Heathrow Airport was forced to make a sudden descent of more than a thousand feet off the west coast of Scotland.

BA quickly declared the issue an "emergency" and the flight returned to Heathrow where passengers, including the former Governor of California, had to circle over the capital for an hour to use up the fuel before it was given the all clear to safely land.

The Sun reports that the action star was "shaken but impressed with the professional BA crew."

Arnie and other passengers then stayed overnight at hotels before heading back to the west coast of America on Wednesday.

"We're sorry for the delay to our customers' travel plans," BA said in a statement. "The flight is returning to Heathrow due to a minor technical issue. Safety is always our very highest priority and our highly trained flight crew will always err on the side of caution."

On Monday, the "Twins" star was pictured in the British capital enjoying a night out at celebrity haunt Annabel's, and he also shared a photo on Instagram of his early Christmas shopping haul.

The outspoken critic of U.S. President Donald Trump had earlier urged Americans to get out and vote.
