The reality TV star and her husband Todd Tucker are keen to give their two-year-old son Ace a younger sibling.

AceShowbiz - R&B singer-turned-reality star Kandi Burruss (Kandi) is turning to surrogacy to expand her family.

The 42 year old is already a mother of two, but she and her husband Todd Tucker are keen to give their two-year-old son Ace a younger sibling.

Kandi and Todd previously documented their struggles to conceive on U.S. show "The Real Housewives of Atlanta", revealing they had started undergoing in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment in 2015, which led to the Xscape star's successful pregnancy with Ace.

Now the couple, which wed in 2014, is hoping for similar results with their remaining two embryos, which are both girls, but this time, Kandi will be using a surrogate mother.

"We've decided we wanted to... get a surrogate," she told Us Weekly. "We did find someone, and right now we are in the process - you know it hasn't been done - but we're in the process."

The musician, who also has 16-year-old daughter Riley from a previous relationship, admits she was initially "kind of scared" and "nervous" about the idea of having another woman carry her child to term, because it's not something any of their friends or family members have experienced.

"I don't have anybody who can tell me (about it)," she admitted. "When we were going through the IVF process, I did have a couple of friends who had done it, so, you know, I could talk to them, but this is a situation where I don't have anybody I can talk to."

Kandi may want to reach out to another reality star for advice - Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye West hired a surrogate for their third child, daughter Chicago, after the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" beauty experienced serious complications with her first two pregnancies. The baby was born in January.
