A lawyer for paramedic Jennifer Hayn-Hiton claims the former 'Melrose Place' actress refused to take responsibility after causing head and neck injuries on the first responder during a drunken attack in June.

AceShowbiz - Heather Locklear has been hit with a lawsuit by first responders stemming from her arrest earlier this year.

The former "Melrose Place" actress was detained in June and charged with interfering with a law enforcement officer and two counts of misdemeanour battery upon an officer and emergency services personnel after authorities responded to her home in Thousand Oaks, California to deal with a domestic disturbance.

Heather, who was allegedly intoxicated, was subsequently taken to hospital and then to jail. After posting $20,000 (£15,400) bail, she was released from lockup and entered rehab to address substance abuse and mental health issues.

Earlier this week (ends November 02), paramedic Jennifer Hayn-Hiton announced plans to sue the actress over the arrest, claiming she suffered head and neck injuries that affected her work. She also alleged Heather was verbally abusive towards her.

According to TMZ, Hayn-Hiton has now officially filed her lawsuit.

"This has taken a tremendous toll on our client and her children," Hayn-Hiton's attorney, Kevin Flahavan, tells the website. "When Ms. Locklear went to rehab, we had hoped that she would learn about making amends to those she had harmed."

"We have reached out to her and she ignored us time and time again," he adds. "It became apparent that Ms. Locklear wasn't going to accept responsibility for her actions on her own."

Hayn-Hiton is seeking unspecified damages for medical costs, pain and suffering and lost wages.

Locklear has yet to comment on the lawsuit, but she opened up about her addiction issues in an Instagram post after she entered rehab.

"Addiction is ferocious and will try to take you down," she wrote. "Recovery is the best revenge. Be kind to everyone you meet, your light just might change their path. Rest in peace beautiful Josh. You touched my (heart)."
