Talking about the documentary project about the comedian-turned actor, the '2 Fast 2 Furious' helmer claims he is aiming to top 'The Defiant Ones' with this one.

AceShowbiz - Filmmaker John Singleton is to direct a documentary about outrageous U.S. comedian-turned-actor Andrew Dice Clay.

The "2 Fast 2 Furious" filmmaker will reunite with his "The Defiant Ones" executive producer Gene Kirkwood for the project.

"My last documentary was 'The Defiant Ones' about Jimmy (Iovine) and (Dr.) Dre - I gotta top that to do this," Singleton tells the New York Post's Page Six. "Dice is so different."

And, according to Clay, who plays Lady Gaga's father in hit new film "A Star is Born", "A Bronx Tale" actor Chazz Palminteri is also working on the project.

"We're in talks with Chazz Palminteri, who wants to do it as a film, not a TV thing," Clay told the newspaper last month. "This isn't going to be some documentary where we show the rise and fall and rise again. When people are done watching this, they're going to really see who Andrew Dice Clay/Andrew Silverstein really is."

The comedian was one of the biggest stars of the circuit in the late 1980s and became the first stand-up to sell out New York's Madison Square Garden for two consecutive nights in 1990.
