Also poised to be featured on the series is a presumable new character who goes by the name of Jenny.

AceShowbiz - New details about Showtime's upcoming TV live-action adaptation of "Halo" have found their way out online. After it was rumored that Master Chief will be featured on the series, a new casting call appears to confirm his appearance.

Obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, the casting news suggests that the network is looking for an actor to play the role of John/Master Chief in series regular capacity. The character from "Halo" video game series is described as "Spartan-like warrior of large build."

Fans later assume that the show is planning to reveal his face which is rather surprising for fans. In the video games, the character is always seen underneath his iconic green armor and helmet. But now, as the character a.k.a. Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy John-117 is listed as a series regular, it's not impossible that he will show his hidden face one day.

Of the character, president of programming Gary Levin previously said at TCA 2018, "We made a conscious decision to hire a writer not known for sci-fi or big battle movies because that's already baked into the 'Halo' franchise and we will service that, but we also wanted to make sure we were getting underneath the armor of the Spartans to the human drama, so it felt like it belonged on Showtime."

In addition of Master Chief, Dr. Halsey, the creator of the SPARTAN-II program, is also expected to appear on the planned series. The site states that the production is searching for an actress between the ages of 55-65. That prompts fans to believe that it is likely that the series will focus on the later stage of her life when she worked to protect her Spartan creations rather than simply raising them for war.

Also poised to be featured on the series is a character named Jenny, listed as an Asian woman between the ages of 18-20. The video games has no character by the name of Jenny so it may be a new character added for the Showtime adaptation.

"Awake" creator Kyle Killen is attached as showrunner, executive producer and writer, joining fellow EP Rupert Wyatt ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes") who is also tapped to direct some episodes of the upcoming series. Also among the executive producers are Scott Pennington and Amblin TV's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. Meanwhile, Showtime, Microsoft/343 Industries and Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television produce the series.

The production of "Halo" is slated to start in June 2019.
