AceShowbiz - "Northern Soul" star Josh Whitehouse will lead the cast of HBO's planned "Game of Thrones" prequel.

The Brit, who currently appears in another cult TV drama "Poldark", will front the series co-created by Jane Goldman and "Game of Thrones" author and co-executive producer George R.R. Martin.

News of Burberry model Whitehouse's casting comes a day after it was announced Naomi Watts would be part of the prequel's ensemble cast.

The untitled series will reportedly take place thousands of years before the events of "Game of Thrones".
