An NBC spokesperson reveals, 'Next week, the 9 A.M. hour will be hosted by other 'TODAY' co-anchors.'

AceShowbiz - It seems like the rumors about NBC canceling Megyn Kelly's 9 A.M. hour on "Today" show have some truth on it. Following backlash over Megyn's blackface Halloween costume remarks, NBC spokesperson told USA TODAY on Friday, October 26 that " 'Megyn Kelly Today' is not returning."

The spokesperson added, "Next week, the 9 A.M. hour will be hosted by other 'TODAY' co-anchors."

Attorney Bryan Freedman, who represents Kelly, told the Associated Press that day that despite not returning to her one-year-old show, Megyn still remains an employee of NBC News. He revealed that she is curently in talks with the network about "next steps."

NBC News reporter Morgan Radford said during the show, "This morning, NBC News host Megyn Kelly is in talks with the network about her imminent departure."

This arrives after it was reported that the network were "contacting the staff and reassigning everyone today. Everyone's being told that they still have a home here, but it won't be on Megyn's show." A source claimed, "They haven't made an official announcement about the show, but everyone knows what it means when they're being moved somewhere else. The show is clearly over."

Kelly Clarkson reportedly has been eyed to replace the disgraced host on her 9 A.M. slot on the morning talk show. The network's executives allegedly "think it might be perfect time to give her 'Today' time slot to Kelly, who has a huge fan base and is extremely well-liked and relatable," another source explained.

The network apparently had made a move as it was also revealed that it had "approached" Kelly for the gig. As for the singer, she was reportedly "willing to take on any job thrown her way. "Kelly is the most non-biased person on the planet, and does not have an ounce of racism in her," another source said of "The Voice" coach.

Meanwhile, Megyn allegedly is planning to do more politic coverage after "Today" ends.
