NBC is allegedly considering the 'Voice' coach to take over the disgraced host's 9 A.M. slot on the morning talk show.

AceShowbiz - NBC has reportedly canceled Megyn Kelly's 9 A.M. hour of "Today" show just hours after the TV anchor receives immense backlash for her blackface comments. Multiple source allegedly have confirmed the cancellation to PEOPLE.
"They're contacting the staff and reassigning everyone today. Everyone's being told that they still have a home here, but it won't be on Megyn's show," says the source. "They haven't made an official announcement about the show, but everyone knows what it means when they're being moved somewhere else. The show is clearly over."
Two other sources, however, claims that the cancellation doesn't mean that Megyn has been fired from NBC.
The report comes after it was reported that Megyn and NBC News chairman Andy Lack have had conversations in recent weeks, discussing the future of the show as well as a new role for her. It's said that Kelly has expressed her desire to do more politic coverage instead of talking about "light-hearted stories."
It isn't hard for the network to find a replacement for the disgraced host. Radar Online reports that NBC is considering Kelly Clarkson to take over Megyn's 9 A.M. slot on the morning talk show.
The network's executives allegedly "think it might be perfect time to give her Today time slot to Kelly, who has a huge fan base and is extremely well-liked and relatable," claims a source.
The network apparently has made a move as another source reveals it has "approached" Kelly for the gig. As for the singer, she is reportedly "willing to take on any job thrown her way. "Kelly is the most non-biased person on the planet, and does not have an ounce of racism in her," a third source says of "The Voice" coach.
Megyn landed on hot water after she defended blackface by white people in Tuesday, October 23 of her show. Discussing the blackface for Halloween with former "Fashion Police" host Melissa Rivers as well as her two NBC colleagues, Jacob Soboroff and Jenna Bush Hager, Megyn said, "You do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface on Halloween, or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. Back when I was a kid, that was O.K., as long as you were dressing up as a character."
After the backlash, Megyn issued an apology through an internal email to her NBC colleagues. She wrote,"To me, I thought, why would it be controversial for someone dressing up as Diana Ross to make herself look like this amazing woman as a way of honoring and respecting her?" But she has realized "that such behavior is indeed wrong, and I am sorry. The history of blackface in our culture is abhorrent; the wounds too deep."
Admitting that she's "never been a [politically correct] kind of person," she concluded her statement, "This is a time for more understanding, love, sensitivity and honor, and I want to be part of that. I look forward to continuing that discussion."
