The surprise effort becomes the first Korean album to top iTunes album charts in 86 countries, breaking record which was previously held by his own group.

AceShowbiz - Be it as a whole group or individual, everything that BTS (Bangtan Boys) release will always be received well by a lot of people. Rap Monster a.k.a. RM's surprise new mixtape, "Mono", is the perfect example of that. Making its way out on October 23, the set started trending on social media almost immediately.

Featuring seven tracks performed in both English and Korean, "Mono" was entirely produced by the leader of the group himself along with Pdogg and Hiss Noise. He was also credited with composing all seven tracks and writing all the lyrics. Early tracks like "Tokyo" and "Seoul" show his vulnerable and lonely self, but the mood breaks on track "Everythinggoes" featuring NELL. The latter song talks about the resilience of the human spirit.

RM concludes the seven-track set with another emotional track "Forever Rain", which finds him rapping about how he wishes for an eternal rainy day so that people won't see his weak self. "I wish it rains all day/ Cuz then people wouldn't stare at me," he spits. "Cuz the umbrella would cover the sad face sad face/ Cuz in the rain people are busy minding themselves."

"Forever Rain" also gets a music video treatment. The video is a monochromatic animated clip of a guy walking in the rain without bringing an umbrella with him.

Hours after its release, "Mono" has topped iTunes album chart in 86 countries including the United States, Ukraine, Norway, Malaysia, Ireland and more. This feat made the set become the first Korean album to top album chart in 86 countries, breaking record which was previously held by his group, BTS. Their repackaged album "Love Yourself: Answer" topped iTunes album chart in 85 countries.

Meanwhile, BTS is currently hitting the road for their "Love Yourself" world tour.
