Series creator Jill Soloway teases that the planned musical will feel like 'Jesus Christ Superstar Live!'

AceShowbiz - Music is seemingly heading to the fifth and final season of "Transparent", which is moving forward without former star Jeffrey Tambor. Series creator Jill Soloway recently revealed to The New York Times that the series is set to wrap up its story with a musical bang as Soloway is currently working on a feature-length musical episode.

"This idea of music rescuing our family was all there," Soloway told the news outlet. The creator went on explaining, "So we're like, Let's just keep blowing on the flame. The Pfeffermans will live on, and that's what kept us going."

Soloway continued saying, "It will hopefully feel like 'Jesus Christ Superstar' mixed with 'La La Land' mixed with Flight of the Conchords with something more Jewish thrown in -- a little 'Yentl'."

"Transparent: The Musical" is written by Soloway alongside their sister Faith. It will focus Judith Light's Shelly Pfefferman and her many neuroses. It's said that they are currently working together with transgender performer Shakina Nayfack on the music for the episode.

The show previously made headlines after Tambor was accused of inappropriate sexual behavior by his former assistant, Van Barnes, and Trace Lysette. That led to him getting fired by Amazon Studios though he repeatedly denied the claims.

While admitting that he could be "difficult" and "moody" to work with, Tambor, who played transgender lead character Maura Pfefferma, insisted there was no truth to Barnes' allegations of sexual misconduct, including reportedly watching her while she slept nude. "I dispute her account," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "I did raise my voice at times, I was moody at times, there were times when I was tactless. But as for the other stuff, absolutely not."
