A judge has granted Tyrell Williams, a man claiming to be punched by Katt at an afterparty, a default judgement after the 'Scary Movie 5' actor failed to response to Tyrell's lawsuit.

AceShowbiz - Embattled comedian Katt Williams has been ruled liable for damages after failing to respond to a lawsuit regarding an alleged attack on a fan.

Tyrell Williams claims he was assaulted by Katt shortly after he was caught taking a photo of the Norbit actor at an afterparty following one of the star's stand-up shows.

According to legal papers filed in 2016, Katt confronted the crowdmember and "suddenly and without warning" knocked his phone out of his hand, before reportedly punching Tyrell in the face three times.

The funnyman is said to have left Tyrell with a number of injuries, before making a quick exit.

The fan sued for unspecified damages, citing the physical and mental pain he endured, but Katt didn't respond to the suit, even though he was allegedly served with the paperwork in May, while he was in court for a separate issue.

The plaintiff recently demanded a default judgement, which has since been granted by a judge, reports The Blast.

The ruling holds Katt liable for damages, which will be determined at an upcoming hearing.

The news of the lawsuit loss emerges after the 47 year old's latest run-in with the law - he was arrested on suspicion of assault in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, October 06 after becoming involved in an allegedly violent altercation with a cab driver.
