The visuals is basically a remake of the 'Breaking Free' scene from 'High School Musical', which launched her into teen stardom.

AceShowbiz - Vanessa Hudgens gave "High School Musical" fans major flashback when she released the music video for her Phantom collaboration "Lay With Me". In the visuals, the singer and actress reprises her role as shy science and math wiz Gabriella Montez from the hit Disney series that launched her into teen stardom.

The video is basically a remake of the "Breaking Free" scene where Troy Bolton and Gabriella have to sing for their callback audition. The only difference between the two is the fact that Zac Efron does not appear in the visuals.

Sporting a lab coat and long black hair with a red hair bow, Vanessa begins singing nervously. But after looking at Phantom and a guy version of Kelsi who rocks a top hat, she eventually gets over her fears of singing in front of people. She takes off her lab coat to reveal a stunning yellow dress, getting into her performance.

Cheerleaders donning the iconic Wildcat outfits then join her performing the song, showing off their dance routine. Meanwhile, Phantom is busy looking for a new beat on their laptop. Once they find the beat that they want and play it on, Vanessa changes her ensemble into a sheer black jumpsuit and rocks a shorter hair. It ends with the trio breaking the props onstage.

Speaking of the visuals in an interview with Just Jared, Phantom revealed, "When we sat down with Vanessa to brainstorm ideas for the video, we knew that this idea was something both our fans and Disney fans alike would be excited to see. It represents us all growing up and moving on, but still remembering where we came from. Directed by The Dads, they did an amazing job of bringing our vision to life and making it really funny as well. We are super proud of how it turned out."
