AceShowbiz - Halsey has made her fans left wondering when she released a new breakup anthem "Without Me" on Thursday, October 4. First released on Beats 1 radio with Zane Lowe, the song finds her singing about helping her lover who only lets her down in the end.

In the song, Halsey also quotes the pre-chorus from Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" over blend of synths that swirl around percussion. "Tell me how's it feel sittin' up there/ Feeling so high but too far away to hold me," she sings. "You know I'm the one who put you up there/ Name in the sky/ Does it ever get lonely? Thinking you could live without me."

Following the release of the song, fans have started speculating that the song might be about G-Eazy, whom she starts dating again after a brief breakup. "halsey snapped so hard on without me & the fact that her and g eazy are back together and thriving and she sTILL released this song about how he hurt her... musical genius. i stan," one fan said.

Another echoed the remark, "The fact that Halsey snapped on 'without me' about g eazy but was able to forgive him and release this work on art while being back together and happy with him with no fear of showing the world how he hurt her... like damn, what a woman."

Halsey herself did not reveal whom the song is about, but she did confirm that it was a particularly personal song. "I think that's what I'm kind of getting at is that it's like it's not protected by some character or some subplot," she said of the song. "It's like this is really me talking about my life. It kind of gave me like an existential crisis as an artist a little bit, but because I've prided myself on being an artist who's authentic and writes about her life and all that stuff. And then when I made this and I felt just how bad it hurt."

"Without Me" marks her first solo track since releasing "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom" last year. A music video for the song is coming soon.
