The new video opens with a scene of the funeral of Dick's parents when he was a kid.

AceShowbiz - DC's upcoming new series "Titans" has released a new promo ahead of its premiere. The 14-second footage features a hint of how and why Robin a.k.a. Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) splits from Batman.

The video opens with a scene of the funeral of Dick's parents when he was a kid. "Living with Bruce Wayne is gonna change your life forever," says someone to young Dick. It's also seen that Bruce sends him a letter that reads, "Revenge won't bring them back. Let me teach you another way to deal with the pain."

Then a grownup Dick appears on the screen, seemingly mad over something as he throws his R badge. "I admire him at first. But I had to walk away," Brenton says in a voiceover. "I was becoming too much like him."

Later, the scene from the show's gory first trailer is glimpsed. Donning his costume, he can be seen brutally attacking a group of criminals. The trailer saw him cursing at his mentor as he said under his breath, "F**k Batman!"

Somewhere in the teaser, young Dick learns that the death of his parents may not be accidental just like Bruce's parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne. "The police - they believe it may not be an accident," a woman, seemingly Dick's teacher, breaks the news.

Brenton's character has been seen in Robin's traditional red, green, and gold outfit, as well as a black suit. Even though the costume distinction remains unclear, fans assume that Robin's departure from Batman will lead to a transformation into Nightwing.

Also starring Ryan Potter as Beast Boy a.k.a. Garfield Logan, Teagan Croft as Raven a.k.a. Rachel Roth, Anna Diop as Starfire a.k.a. Koriand'r, Alan Ritchson as Hawk and Minka Kelly as Dove, "Titans" follows young soon-to-be superheroes that come from every corner of the DC Universe who are led by Grayson. On this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes.

"Titans" is slated to debut on October 12 on the DC Universe streaming service. Meanwhile, the series will have its world premiere October 3 at the New York Comic Con.
