The fiance of Ariana Grande also jumps to Lorne Michael's defense, saying that Chevy has been disrespectful to the show creator.

AceShowbiz - A current cast member of "Saturday Night Live" has responded to Chevy Chase's negative comments. Pete Davidson has taken aim at Chase, who was among founding members of the long-running comedy sketch, after the latter dubbed the show "the worst f***ing humor in the world."

"He's a f***ing d****ebag," Pete said during his appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show on Monday, September 24. "F***ing Chevy Chase. He's just a genuinely bad, racist person and I don't like him. He's a putz."

The fiance of Ariana Grande also jumped to creator Lorne Michael's defense. "It's disrespectful to Lorne, too, a guy who gave you a career," Davidson said. "No matter how big you get, you can't forget what that guy did for you."

Chase previously slammed the Emmy-winning show in an interview with the Washington Post. "I'm amazed that Lorne [Michaels] has gone so low. I had to watch a little of it, and I just couldnt f***ing believe it. That means a whole generation of s**theads laughs at the worst f***ing humor in the world."

He went on saying, "You know what I mean? How could you dare give that generation worse s**t than they already have in their lives? It just drives me nuts."

It prompted another "SNL" alum to weigh in on the subject, though his remarks are more unbiased. "I think for comedy to stay important and relevant it needs to evolve and it needs to change over time, so I certainly understand if the comedy that [Chase has] been watching since he left is not to his liking," Taran Killam shared at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival. "But I certainly don't disagree that it hasn't been as good since the first two seasons or that first one season he was on because I own that box DVD set."
