AceShowbiz - Miguel has weighed in on rumors of Cardi B negotiating with NFL to get her own set at the upcoming Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show. Speaking with TMZ, the "Sky Walker" singer shows his supports for the female emcee should she really be given her own set at the annual football game.
Miguel just returned from Las Vegas when the news outlet asked about his opinion on Cardi's potential stage collaboration with Maroon 5 at the 2019 Super Bowl. "That would be crazy," he answered, before he was asked whether NFL should give in her demands to have her own set. "She would kill that," the California native said while going to his car. Making it clear that he supported Cardi to have her own set, he said the words twice while shouting.
Cardi is reportedly being offered to perform her collaboration with Maroon 5 on "Girls Like You", but she is playing hard to get. She reportedly has already received a lot of offers to perform in early February, so the Super Bowl organizers may need to fulfill her wish, which is having her own set, to book her for the gig.
Reports of Maroon 5 headlining the 2019 Super Bowl itself has yet to be confirmed. A spokesperson for NFL previously stated, "It's a Super Bowl tradition to speculate about the performers for the Pepsi Halftime Show. We are continuing to work with [longtime sponsor] Pepsi on our plans but do not have any announcements to make on what will be another epic show."
While it's yet to made official, Waka Flocka Flame has blasted NFL for the rumors. The rapper thinks that the organizers should have picked Atlanta artist to play the game's annual halftime show instead of the seven-piece band, given the fact that the event will be held in the city.
Super Bowl LIII is set to take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3, 2019.
