The disgraced comedian was seen laughing in court after he was sentenced to 3 to 10 years behind bars for a 2004 sex assault.

AceShowbiz - Bill Cosby didn't look a bit remorseful after he was sentenced to three to ten years in state prison for a 2004 sex assault. The former "The Cosby Show" star was seen laughing and cracking jokes with his team in Montgomery County court while sheriff's officers put him in handcuffs and led him away.

Cosby was found guilty for the 2004 rape of former Temple University employee Andrea Constand back in April. On Tuesday, September 25, Judge Steven O'Neill refused to consider probation or any kind of house arrest. Before the sentencing, Cosby was officially classified as a "sexually violent predator."

Bill Cosby was smiling outside Montgomery County court before his sentence hearing.

During the sentence hearing, the judge reminded the comedian that "no one is above the law." Despite being aware of Cosby's age and failing health, the judge said, "I am not permitted to treat him any differently because of who he is or who he was. Of course, the higher the ascent, the sharper the fall. I recognize that impact on you, Mr. Cosby, and I am sorry for that."

"My reasons for the sentence are the reasons I’m relying on in denying this defendant bail. This is a serious crime he's been sentenced for," Judge O'Neill explained.

Cosby handed over his wallet, tie, watch and suit to authorities before the disgraced actor, who wore a white shirt and red suspenders, was escorted out of the courtroom through a hallway. He was still allowed to have his cane, which he held with his two hands.

Meanwhile, he showed a gloom expression in a mug shot taken just minutes after the prison sentence. He looked down and refused to peer at the camera, as his face looked sad.

Cosby was taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in nearby Eagleville, where he will be transported to a state correctional facility called Phoenix. He will later be assigned to a state institution in Pennsylvania.

Cosby's attorneys will likely file an appeal.
