AceShowbiz - The celebration has begun, two days before the 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards is taking place on Monday, September 17. Among the star-studded pre-Emmy parties held over the weekend was Variety and Women in Film's Emmy bash at Cecconi's in West Hollywood on Sunday, September 16.
Celebrating Emmy nominees and other stars in television, the event was attended by the likes of Laverne Cox, Shay Mitchell, Lucy Hale, Jenna Dewan, Sarah Hyland, Gaten Matarazzo, Sterling K. Brown and more. The event also highlighted women's achievements in breaking down the barriers to inclusivity.
"We've made some progress in women directing television for the first time, but a lot of the other statistics have not moved," said Women in Hollywood executive director Kirsten Schaffer. "For those of you that have helped move the numbers, I want to thank you for all your work that you've done towards gender parity inclusivity."
