The puppets in the Hype Williams-directed music video bear strong resemblance to some rappers whom she mentions in the song, including Tekashi69 and Lil Wayne.

AceShowbiz - Aside from addressing the drama between her and Cardi B during the latest episode of her Queen Radio show, Nicki Minaj revealed that she would be releasing "Barbie Dreams" music video. The visuals was unleashed on Monday, September 10 as promised and features a bunch of puppets.

Directed by Hype Williams, the clip opens with a puppet nonchalantly introducing the music video before the scene changes to show Nicki rocking various colorful outifits and wigs, including rainbow, yellow and neon green hair.

As the song features her mentioning a slew of male rappers, the puppets in the video bear strong resemblance to some rappers whom she mentions in the song. Among them are Tekashi69 (6ix9ine), Lil Wayne and DJ Khaled. Tekashi puppet can be seen rocking his iconic rainbow hair and grills, while Wayne puppet has his signature dreads.

"Barbie Dreams" is included on her latest album "Queen", which was released on August 10. The song drew a lot of attention due to its lyrics which find her playfully insulting male rappers and athletes, who are mostly her friends and collaborators. Several publications suggested that the song was a diss track, prompting Nicki to deny and clarify it during an episode of her radio show.

"You guys know 'Barbie Dreams' is not a diss, right?" she said. "It's just some funny s**t. I love them. I said things about people who I know can take a joke and won't be emotional about it." The Young Money femcee continued, "Reading the reactions to 'Barbie Dreams' is f***ing hilarious. Everyone is saying how disrespectful 'Barbie Dreams' is, and that's why I f***ing love it."

Nicki is currently preparing to hit the road for her upcoming "NICKIHNDRXX Tour". The trek will launch in Europe in February 2019. Her touring partner, Future, will not be joining her for the North American leg of the tour.
