Jack's Vietnam days are also glimpsed in the video, that also hints at what the Big Three are up to in the upcoming season.

AceShowbiz - "This Is Us" returns for season 3 in a few weeks, and now the hit NBC drama treats fans to first-look footage of the upcoming season. The footage takes fans back to the early days of Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), now that the mystery of his death has been revealed.

The video starts with a scene of Jack meeting Rebecca (Mandy Moore), whom he calls as "the girl," in a bar where she performs a song. The two later go on a date in a carnival. The two look smitten for each other with Jack sweetly wiping a piece of candy off of Rebecca's face.

Jack's Vietnam days are also glimpsed in the video. "We also go back a little further with Jack into his Vietnam era and understanding truly what happened to him there," Milo explains in the featurette. It's seemingly one of his hard times as he lost his brother Nicky in the war. Michael Angarano has been tapped to play Nicki in the upcoming third season.

Fans also get to know what the Big Three are up to in season 3. Newly-wed couple Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) are trying to have a baby, but "that's not gonna be easy," according to Chrissy. During what seems like her birthday party, Kate can be seen saying, "I wish for a baby... but you're right, Madison, it won't come true," after blowing the candles.

As for Kevin (Justin Hartley), he has found a new romance with Zoe (Melanie Liburd), a girl he just has met. However, it turns out that Zoe is Beth's (Susan Kelechi Watson) cousin. Upon knowing their relationship, Beth doesn't seem to be too pleased about her brother-in-law romancing her cousin.

Meanwhile, Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Beth will still have to deal with angry foster child Deja (Lyric Ross) as she is welcomed back into the family, even though it's against her will. "This big, giant thing happened to me, and I didn't have any say in it," Randall tells her, seemingly talking about his abandonment and adoption. "And I don't want that to be the case for you."

About reuniting once again for the new season, Mandy says, "There's nothing like coming back home. It's like, this is where I belong." Chris echoes the remark, saying, "We all came back and everything clicked right in the gear." Chrissy then compares it like "coming back to school and seeing all your friends," adding that she misses her co-stars.

Season 3 of "This Is Us" is slated to premiere on September 25 at 9 P.M. on NBC.
