The legendary musician hilariously explains in an interview with Jimmy Fallon, 'They've got better legs than me.'

AceShowbiz - Paul McCartney decided not to release a pop album as Beyonce Knowles and Taylor Swift have "got that covered."

The legendary musician appeared as a guest on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Thursday, September 6 night to promote his new record, "Egypt Station". This is Paul's 17th studio album and he agreed when Jimmy Fallon referred to it as a "concept album", before going on to explain that he had swerved modern pop due to the talent that's already out there.

"We figured we can't really do the modern pop album, where it's like just a bunch of singles," the "Live and Let Die" hitmaker explained. "I mean people like Taylor Swift and Beyonce have got that kind of thing covered.

"And they've got better legs than me," he joked.

Elsewhere in the episode, Paul and Jimmy surprised some unsuspecting New York City tourists who were visiting U.S. TV network NBC's studios at the Rockefeller Center. As the lift doors open, the guests are delighted to see Jimmy as he casually reveals his face from behind a newspaper, and even more euphoric when The Beatles megastar does the same. A subsequent sequence see the visitors stumble upon the pair playing table tennis, while they also witness Jimmy 'magically' make Paul appear from behind a blanket.

The British icon also hinted that he'd be playing a secret gig at New York's Grand Central Station on Friday night.

"The album title is 'Egypt Station', there might be a little clue there. It might be a grand show, I don't know," he teased.
