The country singer was initially tapped to perform at The Long Road country music festival in Leicestershire, England and BBC Radio 2's Live in Hyde Park in London.

AceShowbiz - Carrie Underwood has scrapped her upcoming performances at two English festivals due to illness.

The Before He Cheats singer was set to perform at The Long Road country music festival in Leicestershire, England on Saturday, September 08 and BBC Radio 2's Live in Hyde Park in London on Sunday, but it has now been announced that she had pulled out of her sets due to ill health.

Representatives for her record label Universal Music Group Nashville wrote on Facebook, "Carrie Underwood has been forced to cancel several upcoming promotional activities in the UK, including appearances at The Long Road Festival and Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park, due to illness. She looks forward to resuming promotion for her new album, Cry Pretty, soon."

They also revealed that an upcoming "fan event" due to take place in London had been cancelled as well.

Officials for The Long Road festival shared the post on Twitter and added, "We've just heard that Carrie is unable to play this weekend due to illness, and our primary concern is her speedy recovery."

A similar message was posted on the web page for the Hyde Park gig, with BBC reps writing, "We wish her well and look forward to welcoming her to Radio 2 in the future."

Carrie has not commented on the cancellations and it has not been specified what illness she is battling. She last performed at Tuckerville festival in the Netherlands at the start of September.

The 35-year-old and her husband Mike Fisher are currently expecting their second child. The country music star announced her pregnancy news while announcing her plans to go on tour to promote album Cry Pretty, which comes out on 14 September, in a video in August.

"Mike, Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another fish to our pond," she said, mentioning her three-year-old son. "We're just so excited and glad you guys can share this with us and be a part of it. Love you guys!"
