Director Andy Muschietti shares a picture of blood-soaked Chastain hugging him as she wraps filming on the horror sequel.

AceShowbiz - "It: Chapter 2" director Andy Muschietti has shared a new bloody picture from the set of the highly-anticipated movie. In the photo posted on his official Instagram account, a blood-soaked Jessica Chastain is hugging the filmmaker while she's grinning to the camera.

The two-time Oscar-nominated actress was apparently in a playful mood as she has wrapped the filming on the horror film. "Ch-ch-ch-ch chastain, and face the strange she's soooo happy when she can smear her fake blood on me," Muschietti captioned the picture.

In the sequel to the 2017 horror hit, Chastain plays the adult version of Beverly. James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Jay Ryan, James Ransone and Isaiah Mustafa also join the cast as the adult Bill, Richie, Ben, Eddie and Mike respectively.

The original young actors, including Sophia Lillis, Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Jeremy Ray Taylor and Chosen Jacobs, return for the upcoming movie. Meanwhile, Bill Skarsgard reprises his role as the evil clown, Pennywise.

The story is set 27 years after the events in the first film. The Losers' Club members, now adults, return to Derry, Maine to face the evil clown Pennywise once again, unaware that it has returned stronger than ever and has awaited their arrival, waiting to exact its wrathful vengeance upon them.

Muschietti previously said that the kid elements in the next movie wouldn't just be brief throwbacks, but "they're a very big part of the action." He added, "On the second movie, that dialogue between timelines will be more present. If we're telling the story of adults, we are going to have flashbacks that take us back to the '80s and inform the story in the present day."

Gary Dauberman returns to write the script. The movie is set for a September 6, 2019 release in the U.S.
