Survivor of Serial Killer Reacts to Reference on Eminem's 'The Ringer'

AceShowbiz - Eminem recently made headlines after the surprise release of his album "Kamikaze". Out of the 13 songs off the set, opener track "The Ringer" was the one which became the talk of the town as it featured him taking aim at a lot of young rappers. He also made a reference to Kala Brown, a survivor of serial killer Todd Kohlepp, on the song. And now Kala has given her response to the reference.

The reference could be heard during the first verse of the song, on which Slim Shady rapped, "But b***h, I'm off the chain like Kala Brown." For those who don't catch up with the story, Kala was kidnapped and spent over two months "chained like a dog" in a metal container on Todd's property in August 2016. She was found by police later in November.

According to her spokesperson Jenny Dial, Kala did not take offense to the line. She said in a statement, "At this time, given we fully know and understand Eminem's style of rap music (it can come off a little unnerving) but she does not want to take offense or feel as if he is attacking her personally."

"It was a clever line that rhymed and we'd like to leave it like that," Jenny continued saying. "Everyone expresses themselves in their own way, and if anything, people will always feel a flash of Kala's struggle when hearing that line."

While Kala didn't have any problem with Em for making a reference to her on his album, Machine Gun Kelly felt otherwise. After getting dissed on track "Not Alike", the young rapper unveiled a diss track titled "Rap Devil" which was aimed at the Detroit native.

Released on Monday, September 3, the song found him rapping, "Tough talk from a rapper paying millions for security a year/ 'I think my dad's gone crazy,' yeah Hailie you right/ Dad's always mad cooped up in the studio yelling at the mic/ You're bored and sober, huh? I know/ About to be 46 years old, dog."

Em has yet to respond to the diss song.
