AceShowbiz - Eriq La Salle paid tribute to his former "ER" co-star, Vanessa Marquez.

The 49-year-old was reportedly shot and killed by police officers in Pasadena, California during a routine welfare check.

A police spokesman said Marquez, who played nurse Wendy Goldman on "ER" from 1994 to 1997, pointed a handgun at cops, who responded to an alert from her landlord after he called to report a woman in trouble.

She was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

"We tragically lost a member of our ER family yesterday. Vanessa Marquez played a nurse when the show first aired," La Salle tweeted on Friday, August 31. "Sending out condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace."

The 56-year-old portrayed Dr. Peter Benton on the medical drama series, and was accused of sexual misconduct by Marquez last year.

The actress wrote a Facebook post in October, in which she accused La Salle of allegedly grabbing her genitals.

Marquez also alleged the other actors on set made "daily attacks on my Mexican heritage" and accused former "ER" star George Clooney of contributing to her being "blacklisted."

"Clooney helped blacklist me when I spoke up abt harassment on ER. 'Women who don't play the game lose career' I did," Marquez said, according to Page Six.

The Oscar-winning actor denied the claims in a statement.

"I take her at her word. I was not a writer or a producer or a director on that show. I had nothing to do with casting. I was an actor and only an actor. If she was told I was involved in any decision about her career then she was lied to. The fact that I couldn't affect her career is only surpassed by the fact that I wouldn't," Clooney added.
