While the color of the singer's dress is right, those watching at home think that the dress is too short for a funeral service.

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande caught everyone's attention when she attended Aretha Franklin's funeral at the Greater Grace Temple in Detroit on August 31, but not in a good way. The Nickelodeon alum has landed in hot water for sporting "less than appropriate" ensemble at the service.

The singer opted for a black mini dress and stilettos when she took the stage to perform a rendition of "Natural Woman". The color was right, but those watching at home thought that it was too short for a funeral service. Many of them took to social media to express their disappointment in Ariana's clothes choice.

"I can't believe Ariana Grande is walking into the house of the lord FOR A FUNERAL in this little a** dress," one tweeted, while another added, "I need to know who told Ariana Grande should could wear a shirt-length dress to church for anything, let alone of all things Aretha's funeral?"

One person posted a gif of someone saying, "Trashy trashy" and captioned it, "Like, I get it, you're Ariana Grande but you're at the FUNERAL FOR THE QUEEN. HAVE SOME CLASS. You know every auntie is ready to tell her that her hair is longer than her damn dress." One other urged the singer to fire her stylish because "you don't dress like that at a funeral."

"Ariana Grande baby that's not what you wear to a funeral," one simply tweeted as another individual said that the "God Is a Woman" singer should have "at least worn stockings with that dress. This is a funeral dammit lol."

Ariana hasn't responded to the backlash.

Besides Ariana, Jennifer Hudson and Stevie Wonder were among stars who also hit the stage to perform a tribute to Aretha. While the "American Idol" delivered "Amazing Grace", the 68-year-old veteran singer belted out his hit song "As".
