'Spider-Man: Far From Home' May Add Another Classic Villain From 'Spider-Man' Universe
Movie

According to a new report, the villainous character, which originally appeared in 'The Amazing Spider-Man' comic in 1965, will join Mysterio, Vulture and possibly Chameleon.

AceShowbiz - "Spider-Man: Far From Home" reportedly will feature another classic villainous character from "Spider-Man" comics. According to a new report, the villain previously appeared in several Marvel comic books and it would team up with Vulture and Mysterio in the sequel of "Spider-Man: Homecoming".

Marvel fans may recognize the rumored antagonist that goes with the name Mark Raxton a.k.a. Molten Man. The rumored classic villain originally made an appearance in "Amazing Spider-Man #28" comic in 1965.

Molten Man is known as a scientist in New York City who works with Dr. Spencer Smythe, the creator of the Spider-Slayers, at Oscorp Industries. Together, they develop an experimental new liquid metallic alloy for the Spider-Slayers from a radioactive meteor. However, when Raxton attempts to steal it for his own benefits, he accidentally spills the liquid all over himself, turning his skin into golden. The incident also gives him abilities such as superhuman strength, radiation projection and heat generation.

There was also a report which suggested that villainous Chameleon was added to the project. Chameleon first appeared in the original issue of "The Amazing Spider-Man" comic and the villain's alter ego name is Dmitri Anatoly Nikolayevich Smerdyakov. There is no further information about the report as Sony Pictures has yet to release any statement, but "In the Fade" actor Numan Acar reportedly was cast as a character named Dimitri.

As if Mysterio, Vulture, Molten Man and Chameleon are not enough to cause trouble, Hydro-Man allegedly will join team. Fans assumed that Hydro-Man would be in the film after they watched Tom Holland's Instagram video which showed his stunt-double being blasted by water. Hydro-Man is a lesser-known Spider-Man villain who is able to turn his body into water, much like Sandman who can turn his body into sand.

"Spider-Man: Far From Home" will take Holland's Peter Parker overseas as he travels abroad during summer vacation. Besides Holland, the sequel will bring back Marisa Tomei as Peter's aunt May Parker, Zendaya Coleman as Michelle "MJ" Jones, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds and Michael Keaton as Vulture. It was also confirmed that Jake Gyllenhaal would join them in the project to play Mysterio, a master of illusion.

Director Jon Watts returns to serve behind the lens for the upcoming superhero film. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers pen the script, with Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal serving as producers.

"Spider-Man: Far From Home" is set to be released on July 5, 2019 in the United States.
