The 1967 Camaro car is a custom built for his 'Avengers' pal Chris Evans.

AceShowbiz - A Captain America-themed supercar that Robert Downey Jr. had custom built for Avengers pal Chris Evans has been revealed in a teaser for the upcoming episode of U.S. TV motor show Jay Leno's Garage.

Evans and Downey became friends while working on Joss Whedon's The Avengers, and discovered they have a mutual love for classic cars.

To show his respect to a fellow motor maniac, Downey, Jr. recently bought Evans a 1967 Camaro and then had it customised for his pal.

Revealed in a clip for Thursday night's, August 30 episode of Jay Leno's Garage, the car's makeover is detailed during a chat with Dave Salvaggio, from SpeedKore Performance, who Downey, Jr. recruited for the job.

Salvaggio explains the car is designed for "someone who likes to go fast", recalling Iron Man star Downey, Jr. was particular about the trim and colours going into the car, opting for a "melted army-man green" for the exterior and brown distressed leather on the inside.

And to give the vehicle the ultimate custom vibe, the steering wheel features the Captain America logo.

Leno took the supercar out for a spin as part of the upcoming episode of his show and really liked the motor's power, telling Salvaggio, "You could get into trouble real quick with this", adding, "I wonder if the cops would give Captain America a ticket".

Salvaggio explains Downey, Jr. had the customised car shipped out to Atlanta, Georgia, where he and Evans were filming Infinity War and "gave it to Chris on set".

The car expert also reveals it's fun working with Downey, Jr. because the car fanatic is "super creative".
