It's said that the new pup will be a welcome addition to the royal couple's rural walks with the Duchess' beagle named Guy.

AceShowbiz - Puppy love! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed a new addition into their royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who got married back on May 19 at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, reportedly had a new dog together.

The couple got the new pup, believed to be a Labrador, in early summer, according to a new report. The furry friend has reportedly been joining the newlyweds at their country getaway in the Cotswolds area and Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace in London.

Harry and Meghan's new bestie will join Meghan's beagle, Guy. It's said that the new pup will be a welcome addition to their rural walks. A representative of Kensington Palace, however, declined to comment on the report.

Meghan is known as a dog lover as she used to own two dogs before moving to London. She brought Guy with her, while leaving Bogart, a Labrador/shepher mix, behind. Guy apparently has become quite close with Queen Elizabeth II.

"I've had two dogs that I've had for a long time, two rescue pups," Meghan said during her first joint interview with Harry when they announced their engagement back in November. "One is now staying with a very close friend and the other little guy is, yes, he's in the U.K. He's been here for a while. I think he's doing just fine."

Meghan and Harry apparently mirrored his brother Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got Cocker Spaniel named Lupo shortly after their Westminster Abbey wedding, settling him into life with them in Anglesey, North Wales. Other royals also have their own dogs as Queen Elizabeth II famously loves corgis and dorgis. Meanwhile, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles have Jack Russell terriers.
