The upcoming James Bond movie may still keep its date as 'Dallas Buyers Club' helmer Vallee, Edgar Wright and David Mackenzie are reportedly eyed as a possible replacement director.

AceShowbiz - "Bond 25" is reportedly still on track for its November 8, 2019 release despite facing a major setback pre-production. According to Deadline, it's still possible for the movie to keep its date if it finds a new director within the next 60 days.

And the studios are apparently moving fast as it's said that Jean-Marc Vallee has been approached as a potential replacement for exiting director Danny Boyle. Vallee is known for his works on critically-acclaimed films "The Young Victoria" (2009) and "Dallas Buyers Club" (2013) as well as the acclaimed HBO miniseries "Big Little Lies". His participation, however, is unlikely due to scheduling.

Other names rumored to be eyed to take over the helming duty include Edgar Wright ("Baby Driver"), David Mackenzie ("Hell or High Water") and Yann Demange (" '71"). Should one of them sign up for the job, the movie could still meet its scheduled release date.

It was earlier speculated that the upcoming James Bond movie would likely miss its scheduled release date after losing Danny Boyle as its director. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the next installment of the spy film franchise might not hit theaters until late 2020.

The site also reported that there was talk of pushing the movie's release to early 2020 even before Boyle's departure, but it should be noted that no recent James Bond movie has been released in summer.

EON and MGM announced earlier this month that Boyle exited "Bond 25" due to "creative differences." New report said that the helmer bowed out of the project after it clashed with returning star Daniel Craig over plans to cast the relatively unknown actor Tomasz Kot as the film's Russian villain. Craig reportedly has a big say in all the casting decisions, and he and producers couldn't agree with Boyle over the casting of Kot for the villainous role.
