According to In Touch magazine (via HollywoodLife.com), the 39-year-old actor proposed to the 28-year-old author just a few weeks ago. "The proposal was very simple and understated," a source reveals, adding that the couple didn't want to draw attention to themselves.
Chris reportedly proposed to Katherine with a "classic" ring, which is best suited for a "simple girl" like her. The source goes on claiming that Katherine, "didn’t need an over-the-top production."
Another source says the couple "can't wait to become husband and wife" as Chris is "so in love with Katherine" and "he really feels lucky to have found her." Meanwhile, Katherine reportedly can't wait to become an official stepmom to Chris' 5-year-old son Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris. "Katherine hasn't been in Jack’s life all that long, but she's already attached to him," the source shares.
While the pair have not confirmed the engagement news, the tabloid goes on reporting that the "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" star has purchased a love nest for him and Katherine in Los Angeles. "It's the perfect place for newlyweds to start a family," the source describes the alleged new home.
News of Chris and Katherine's alleged engagement comes after it was reported that the couple vowed not to have sex before marriage. OK! magazine said that Chris and Katherine "are both deeply religious and believe sex should be saved for marriage but they have nothing against showing affection."
"Katherine wants something sincere with a man who's in this for the long-term, and Chris checks all of her boxes," a source told the publication. "If things work out, they both think that sex will be all the more special and worth waiting for. Chris is sticking to his rule book. He cares a lot for Katherine and doesn't want to mess things up."
