The rapper files legal rapper requesting prosecutors call him by his legal name, the 'defendant,' or the 'accused.'

AceShowbiz - Rapper Tekashi69 has filed legal papers requesting court officials cease using his stage name during his upcoming choking trial.

The hip hop star, real name Daniel Hernandez, became a wanted man in Texas after allegedly attacking a 16 year old at the Galleria Mall in January. In July, he was arrested as he arrived back in the U.S. following a European tour and he spent a night behind bars before his bail release.

According to TMZ, he recently lodged the documents requesting prosecutors call him by his legal name, the "defendant", or the "accused". He reportedly argues any other name could attach "derogatory and satirically unflattering labels" on him.

He is due back in court to be arraigned on Wednesday, August 22.

Meanwhile, Hernandez is also facing the possibility of serving at least a year in prison for violating the terms of an agreement he made in 2015 after pleading guilty to one count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance.

The rapper has always maintained he had no idea the naked 13 year old he fooled around with in a viral video was a minor.

He has been ordered to return to court in October for a hearing in the case.
