Back at the MTV Video Music Awards in 201, the 35-year-old rapper was left exposed when the zip on her dress broke.

AceShowbiz - Nicki Minaj was consoled by Beyonce Knowles after she suffered an epic wardrobe malfunction at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2014.

The 35-year-old rapper was left exposed when the zip on her dress broke, seconds before she was due on stage to perform Bang Bang with Ariana Grande and Jessie J at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

Nicki was "devastated" and found solace in her friend Beyonce, who helped the MC see the positives in the mishap.

"One time she did say, which I thought was a really sweet compliment, she said that when I was almost on national TV with my boobs out on an award show because I couldn't zip my dress up in time, she was like, 'Oh my God, I have so much respect for that, for the way you handled that. That was so professional. You didn't miss your cue! You went out there with that dress the way it was... You were on that stage when your first line came on. You did what you had to do!'" Nicki recalled to SiriusXM radio station Shade 45.

"I was very proud to get a compliment like that from her because I was devastated and humiliated to be on stage with half of my torso out, zipping up a dress on a live award show," she added.

Nicki will be hoping she has no such issues on Monday night, August 20, when she performs at the 2018 prizegiving in her hometown of New York City.

Meanwhile, the Anaconda hitmaker has previously insisted the only artist she would ever consider doing a joint album with is Beyonce, after already collaborating on Nicki's Feeling Myself (Remix) and the superstar singer's Flawless (Remix).

However, their crazy work schedules would make working together on a full project almost impossible.

"I always see a lot of people saying, 'Oh my gosh, a joint album with you guys would be really dope,' but, you know, those are the kinds of things that are just wishful thinking from fans...," Nicki explained. "They're far-fetched because usually artists are in such different places in their personal lives and career lives that it's hard to make that work".
